A COURT OF LAW DOES NOT CONCERN ITSELF WITH TRIFLES

Dictum

A Court of law, it must be remembered always, does not concern itself with triffles but with substance and justice of the case which are weightier matters. The long accepted Latin maxim is de minimis non curat lex. See Jeric Nigeria Ltd. v. Union Bank Nig Plc (2000) 15 NWLR (Pt. 691) 477. See also Chief Adebili Adegbuyi v. All Progressives Congress and Ors (2013) LPELR 22799 (CA).
